All organisms on Earth are affected by the Earth’s geomagnetic field (GMF). Any kind of magnetic (MF) or electromagnetic field (EMF) other than GMF influences organisms growth and development through changing physiological and biochemical molecular processes.
When water is exposed to a magnetic field it causes atomic and molecular alterations in its structure, which leads to a change in its physical parameters such as freezing and boiling point, viscosity, dielectric constant. The extent of this effect is parallel with the duration growth of magnetic field exposure the UV and infrared absorption intensity increases.
Atomic polarization also changes the transient dipole momentum of electrons in the molecule. The hydrogen bonded molecular chains rearrange from linear and ring structures into clusters. There is further magnetic interaction among these groups, which increases the polarizing effect of water molecules.

The efficiency of the tools used for magnetic water treatment is affected by the field strength of magnets used and by the duration of exposure. The duration of exposure can be influenced by modifying water flow speed and by the frequency the water passes through the magnetic field as described and proved in.
Based on independent studies, the technology may save approximately 18-20% of irrigation water.

From practical aspects MTIW has the following features:

  1. Saturation effect: above a certain level of magnetic field strength and exposure duration, the water reaches a state of maximum treatment. From that point there is no further change in its properties, even following further magnetic exposure.
  2. Temperature dependency of magnetization: between 35℃ and 95℃, the magnetic effect decreases with the increase of temperature, as clusters disintegrate due to increased thermal energy of water molecules.

Memory effect: following magnetic treatment, newly formed water structures remain in place for a duration that enables practical use (depending on the strength of magnetic field and duration of exposure, this may vary between 35-60 minutes).

The high efficiency of the technology devices results from their internal design. An extremely strong magnetic field is created in the device due to the arrangement of magnetic rings. The installation of a water baffling magnetic cone further improves efficiency: it enables the water to pass through the magnetic field 5-6 times. Water molecules don’t collide with the wall of the device, so they don’t lose much energy. Thus, water receives a constant level of excitement during the treatment and reach the maximum saturation level by MTIW.
